California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice

Last Updated: May 2, 2026

Who this applies to

This notice applies to California residents and supplements our Privacy Policy. It explains what personal information Compare Medical Software (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”). If anything in this notice conflicts with our Privacy Policy, this notice controls for California residents.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:

Code §1798.80) | Name + business contact info, role/title, practice name | You (via form) | | F. We do not collect: biometric information, audio/visual or sensory data, education records, medical or health records (PHI), financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or sensitive personal information such as sexual orientation, political affiliation, or religious beliefs.

Sources of personal information

We collect personal information from three sources:

  • From you — when you submit a quote-comparison form, send us a contact message, or otherwise communicate with us.
  • Automatic collection — when you visit our site, we collect technical and usage data through cookies, web beacons, and pixels.
  • Third parties — we receive limited data from advertising platforms (Meta/Facebook for click-through and ad measurement) and analytics providers (Google Analytics).

Why we collect it (business purposes)

We use the personal information we collect for the following business purposes, as defined under CCPA:

  • Providing our quote-matching service (sending your details to selected medical software vendors so they can prepare competitive quotes).
  • Responding to your inquiries and providing customer support.
  • Measuring and optimizing our advertising and marketing.
  • Detecting security incidents, protecting against fraud, and debugging.
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms.

Categories of third parties we share with

We share personal information with the following categories of third parties:

  • Vendor partners — medical software vendors you’ve consented to compare quotes with when you submit our form.
  • Service providers — 360Connect (form processing and lead routing), Google (analytics), Meta (ad measurement and conversion tracking), and our hosting and email infrastructure providers.
  • Legal and regulatory recipients — when we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration in the way that term is commonly understood. However, the use of advertising pixels and analytics cookies on our site may be considered a “sale” or “share” under broad readings of CCPA. To opt out, see the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information section below.

Your CCPA rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to know — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share with.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, where we need to retain it to complete a transaction, comply with law, or prevent fraud).
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we generally do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CCPA. If our practices change, this right will apply.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a CCPA right.

How to exercise your rights

You can submit a verifiable request in one of two ways:

  • Email: info@comparemedicalsoftware.com with the subject line “CCPA Request” and tell us which right you want to exercise.
  • Mail: 600 Ackerman Lane, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320

We will verify your identity using the email address and phone number you submitted to us (or other reasonable verification if you have not previously interacted with us). We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend our response by another 45 days (90 days total) and will notify you of the extension.

Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a CCPA request on your behalf. The agent must provide written authorization signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly with us before fulfilling the request.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising:

  • Email us at info@comparemedicalsoftware.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” or
  • Click the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the website footer.

Opting out disables advertising pixels and certain analytics for your session. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals when sent by your browser.

Notice at collection

At the point you submit a form on our site, we provide a brief notice describing the categories of personal information being collected and the purposes for collection. That notice at collection is incorporated by reference into this CCPA Notice.

Retention

We retain form submission data for 24 months from the date of submission unless you request earlier deletion. Marketing and analytics data are retained per the standard retention windows of our service providers (typically 14–26 months for Google Analytics and Meta data).
